Causes:
Excessive intake of fluoride between birth and the age of eight will disturb the cells that are responsible for enamel formation. Fluoride hinders the production of enamel cells (ameloblasts), and unfortunately the effects are irreversible.

Symptoms:
Symptoms include white stains, or brown discoloration of the teeth. Fluorosis is a aesthetic issue without pain

Treatments to mask dental fluorosis:
Composite filling for light cases.
Porcelain veneers for more severe cases.
