It is a dental infection, often an accumulation of pus that generally originates from a bacterial infection
There are three types of abscesses: Gingival, Periodontal and Periapical.
They are normally limited to gum, tissue or root although if left untreated dental abscesses can spread to mouth, throat face and jaw.
They normally require treatment and are not difficult to treat although it is important you see your Dentist immediately and to prevent these infections we also suggest regular hygiene appointments, brushing and flossing daily .
